1. Alcest – Écailles De Lune
Since the intent of this blog is to focus on all creative aspects of music, it seemed to make sense to give some props to some of the best album covers from the past year.
I knew as soon as I picked up Écailles De Lune by Alcest that it would be very difficult for anything to nudge it from the top position. To put it simply, everything about this cover is simply stunning. Painted by Fursy Teyssier and laid out by Metastazis the visuals perfectly compliment the blackened post shoegaze sounds of Alcest. And how about the text treatment of the Alcest logo? Put that by itself on the cover and it likely would still be at the top of this list.
Below are nine other covers from the past year that I felt stood out. Have a look and check out the actual recordings while you’re at it. Everything shown here is not only great to look at, but totally worth your listening attention as well. Oh, and did I mention that number two was also painted by Fursy Teyssier?
I think the Lantlôs album is called .neon….. Neige de Mars is a track on the album.

You’re right. Thanks for pointing that out!
