Saw Buried Inside on Saturday with Whitey and a couple of guys from his posse. The band was awesome. A wall of sound that was LOUD. Lots of buildups, feedback, noise and flat out heaviness. It was great to finally see them.
The reason I posted this is because of the accompanying photo that I just found. What is cool about it is, first it was taken by my friend Jon Hutt, who I haven’t seen in years. He was five feet in front of me taking this and I didn’t even recognize him. And second, believe it or not, this show was played in total darkness (and in a space the size of a large rec room). Never know it by the photo, would you?
I didn’t know Jon was there either. That’s the second show at the Khyber we went to in 5 years . . . and he was at both.
The weird thing is the guy I saw taking photos looked nothing like Jon. Mind you he had a beard and a different type of glasses on. So maybe Jon Hutt with a beard is one hell of a disguise.
Awesome photo though. When I first saw it I thought it must have been from a sound check with the lights on before we got there. Jon sure knows how to run a flash bulb.
Yeah, it’s a great shot. Sure looks like it was well lit, especially since it was like standing in a dark closet.
